The (almost) new star in the KD
The event ship MS RheinDiamond has not only shed its former name, MS Jules Verne, but also underwent a comprehensive technical overhaul and visual redesign at a Dutch shipyard during the winter months. Its futuristic design, striking lines, and expansive glass facades make the ship a true eye-catcher on the water.
Modern event venue with a lounge atmosphere
The main deck features state-of-the-art surround sound technology, atmospheric lighting, and a stylish lounge setting. As part of the impressive KD —comprising the MS RheinMagie, MS RheinFantasie, MS RheinGalaxie, MS RheinVision, MS RheinHarmonie, and MS RheinPoesie —the MS RheinDiamond perfectly complements the portfolio for exclusive events and premium charter cruises.
As part of the modernization, the entire main electrical switchboard was replaced, among other things. The ship was also equipped with a new, highly efficient vacuum sewage
system that uses significantly less water and conserves resources. “The new system transports sewage using negative pressure, which is both environmentally friendly and cost-effective,” explains Markus Schwartz, Managing Director of KD Luxembourg and head of Nautical and Technical Operations.
Applications and Capacities
The MS RheinDiamond is primarily used for charter cruises on the Rhine between Düsseldorf and Mainz, as well as on the Main River in Frankfurt. With a length of just under 76 meters, a width of 9.60 meters, and approximately 800 square meters of space,
the ship can accommodate up to 600 people; the recommended capacity is 150 to 300 guests.
When the weather is nice, the spacious outdoor deck is the perfect setting for relaxed meetings, receptions, or get-togethers under the open sky. The catering options are also highly flexible: from sophisticated buffets and live cooking to multi-course menus, everything can be customized to meet the specific needs of our guests.
Exclusive KD on Board
In addition to charter cruises, the MS RheinDiamond is also used for select KD . For example, it is scheduled to appear at the “Kölner Lichter” event on August 1.
