Tasks

1. management tasks:
  • Staff meetings
  • Strategy development for ship deployment
  • Personnel support (objectives, promotion and training, information)
2. management tasks:
  • Coordination of driving operations incl. personnel deployment
  • Coordination of cross-departmental team tasks
3. specialist tasks:
  • Nautical ship management
  • Hull report management
  • Representation to customers and authorities
  • Procure and check cleaning, repair and maintenance materials
  • Coordinate and carry out repairs in the deck area
  • Carrying out repairs in winter
  • On-board watches and guards outside of driving hours
  • Deviation analyses for ship operations
  • Involvement in project groups
4. self-management:
  • professional and personal further training

Responsibility

  • Economic management of driving operations and cross-departmental team tasks
  • Compliance with the timetable
  • Shipping in accordance with the legal regulations
  • Compliance with safety regulations and service instructions
  • Supply and disposal of the ship

Competence:

  • Overall responsibility (in the team) for economic and customer-oriented ship management
  • Personnel responsibility for all employees under his disciplinary authority
  • Determining the ship’s sailing times in consultation with the ship manager
  • Right to issue instructions in the event of accidents
  • Consultation in ship deployment planning
  • Participation in meetings of the ship’s team
  • Representations as part of the annual budget
  • Disposition and monitoring of external company and workshop assignments within the framework of existing guidelines
  • Involvement in repair and investment planning

Prerequisites:

  • Rhine Patent between Mainz and Düsseldorf (or sections)
  • sound nautical knowledge, relevant professional experience
  • Very good knowledge of German, other languages an advantage
  • Representational skills
