St. Goarshausen

The Loreley town at the foot of the world-famous Loreley Rock. The imposing mountain rises out of the Middle Rhine Valley at around 193 m above sea level.

With the Loreley song written by Heinrich Heine and set to music by Friedrich Silcher, the legend of the blonde Rhine mermaid Loreley, who is said to have lured the boatmen to their doom, has become famous all over the world. Even today, visitors can still sense the myth when they stand high up on the Loreley rock, look into the eddies of the Rhine and become aware of the dangerous Rhine straits. A visit to the small but pretty old town below Katz Castle is well worthwhile.

Information about the jetty

The KD landing stage in St. Goarshausen is suitable for passengers with reduced mobility
Passengers are requested to arrive approx. 15 minutes before the desired departure time.
Passengers who have not purchased their ticket at the KD Ticket Office in St. Goarshausen are requested to report to the Ticket Office on site.
Payment options on site: Cash, EC, credit card (Visacard, Mastercard)

Your journey by train/local public transport

Regional train VIAS. St. Goarshausen station approx. 5 minutes on foot to the KD landing stage.

Your journey by car

There is a parking lot directly on the B42 in front of the ferry terminal. The KD pier is located approx. 500 m from this parking lot at the Rhine facilities. Public parking spaces are also available at St. Goarshausen main station, free of charge.

Travel information for coaches

A bus stop for boarding and alighting is located approx. 100 m before the KD landing bridge.
A special bus parking lot (subject to charge) has been set up for coaches approx. 500 m away. Eight parking spaces on the B 274. The charges are staggered.
