Major award for Köln-Düsseldorfer Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt GmbH ( KD Managing Director Nina Luig was honored with the Gastro-Stern Award as "Best Female Executive of the Year." The award ceremony took place on the eve of INTERNORGA in Hamburg – one of the most important industry gatherings for the gastronomy and hospitality sector.

More than 400 guests from the gastronomy, culinary, and hospitality sectors gathered for the traditional networking evening, "Lokaltermin." Hosts Peter Hack and Frank Remagen guided the audience through the program on behalf of the GenussGARTEN family. Nina Remagen delivered the laudatory speech for Nina Luig.

For the Cologne-Düsseldorfer shipping company, the award in its 200th anniversary year holds special significance. It recognizes both the entrepreneurial work of the managing director and the continuous development of the gastronomic concepts on board the ship. KD -Fleet.

A special feature of the KD -Gastronomy: Each ship has its own dedicated kitchen team working in a fully equipped galley. Freshly prepared dishes are created there daily – inspired by current food trends, characterized by seasonality and regional partnerships, and with a growing focus on sustainable concepts.

The award underlines the ambition of KD Nina Luig's goal is to combine hospitality, quality, and innovation. Together with her team, she continuously develops the onboard culinary concepts – with the aim of offering guests special moments of enjoyment on the Rhine.

The Gastro Star Award is considered one of the most prestigious honors in the gastronomy and hospitality industry and traditionally marks the start of INTERNORGA in Hamburg. This year's recipients included Nina Luig, Bettina Schliephake-Burchardt, and top chef Jan Hartwig.
