Begin on board
For connoisseurs the ideal start to a wonderful day out might look like this: arrive unstressed just after nine o'clock at the KD landing stage in Cologne Old Town, either bringing your own bike, or renting one from the Bike Hire Station just around the corner. With your KD Two-in-one ticket Bike & Boat purchased in advance online and printed out at home, just stroll leisurely up the gangway on to the ship. KD's crew will show you where the bike storage area is, and you can then find the best place on the ship to sit and enjoy the upcoming cruise.
When the sun is shining that would of course be on the observation deck, with a perfect view of the Cathedral and the Old Town and later of the changing rural scenery. When the anchor is hoisted at half past nine you glide off and set sail upstream. How about breakfast? The catering crew has all kinds of freshly prepared delicacies available to fortify you for your cycle tour. Where that actually begins is for you to decide; the ship takes nearly an hour to reach its next stop in Köln-Porz and a another half an hour to reach Wesseling. If you want a really relaxed start you can even stay on board for the three hour cruise to Bonn.
Speaking of Bonn: of course no-one has to travel all the way to Cologne just to start his Bike & Boat tour. You can begin at any KD landing stage, and in Bonn there is also a Bike Hire Station at the landing stage. Our landing stages
