Rheinfels Castle

Rheinfels Castle is the largest ruin on the Rhine and one of the most magnificent. It is just as important in terms of the castle building skills of the counts of Katzenelnbogen in the 14th century as for the construction of palaces and fortresses by the landgraves of Hessen-Kassel in the 16th to 18th centuries. The expansiveness of this fortification, with numerous battlements and underground defence tunnels, some of which are still accessible today, offers an experience like no other. Visit the city’s website for all the latest information on prices and opening hours.

Loreleyblick Maria Ruh

Welcome to one of the most beautiful lookouts in the romantic Lorelei valley. Popular, lively and one of a kind – Maria Ruh is located directly opposite Lorelei Rock. The terraced park, the cosy beer garden, the “traditional” coffee house and the restaurant invite you to stay a while and enjoy yourself. Special highlights include the on-site coffee roastery, the Sunday breakfast served on tiered cake stands, the option of exclusive venue hire, and romantic picnics in the park. You can look forward to one of the most magnificent views the Rhine Valley has to offer.

The town of St. Goar

Restaurants, beer gardens, ice cream parlours and cafés are plentiful in St. Goar. The bank of the Rhine and the old town with its pedestrian zone invite you to take a leisurely stroll and stay a while.A park connects the town on the bank of the Rhine with Rheinfels Castle towering above it. A weekly market is held on Tuesday afternoons on the “Rheinbalkon” (Rhine balcony) not far from our jetty. St. Goar also makes a great starting point for short walks with fantastic views of the Rhine, Lorelei and the faraway Taunus mountains. Two “dream loops”, the path to the lookout tower on the Spitzer Stein (Pointed Stone) and the RheinBurgenWeg (Rhine Castle Trail), are popular hiking routes.
