Königswinter has countless attractions and stories to tell. It is the gateway to Germany's oldest nature reserve, the Siebengebirge Mountains. High up on one summit stands the Hotel Petersberg, which in the course of history has often been the setting for political dialogue. The oldest cog railway in Germany will take you up to the ruined castle at the summit of the Drachenfels Cliff, from where you have a magnificent view down into the Rhine Valley. Half way up stands Drachenburg Castle.
