Expansion of the fleet and the Cologne program

On board the KD event ships MS RheinMagie and MS RheinFantasie as well as the refurbished MS RheinVision, formerly MS Loreley, visitors can expect a varied program of events on board in 2024. In addition to comedy events, readings and party cruises, guests can also look forward to new dinner highlights. This year, KD is celebrating the premiere of its new, own hotel ship “KD Moment” and is offering year-round event cruises as weekend trips from Cologne for the first time. KD is thus building on its successful history as the “inventor of river cruises”. After all, the shipping company built the very first cabin ship on the river, the MS Europa, in 1960 and thus carried out pioneering work that set the trend.

New culinary highlights with the chefs of KD

A perfect symbiosis of enjoyment and experience awaits guests at two new culinary events on board. At the Kitchen Party, KD’s chefs will impress guests with their passion and creativity at various live cooking stations on board. Vintner wines, exquisite drinks and lounge music round off the event. The premiere is on April 25 on MS RheinVision. Another event will take place on August 29.

At the new Dinner Moment, the KD crews will serve a seasonal 4-course dinner with corresponding wines from KD winemakers Lisa Bunn and Tobias Rickes on board the lavishly renovated
MS RheinVision. Three dates are planned in 2024: 11.06., 10.09. and 26.11.2024. Tickets including menu 89 euros.

The popular brunch cruises on the first and third Sunday of every month and the all-inclusive evening cruises on Saturday evenings remain an integral part of the Cologne event calendar.

The original murder mystery dinner and cabaret dinner cruises

KD presents the finest entertainment on the stages of the KD event ships. The live comedy show “Nightwash” makes a guest appearance on October 6 with new stand-up comedians. The Original Krimi Dinner celebrates its premiere in Cologne on December 8. Cabaret artist Jürgen Becker on December 1 (“Deine Disco”) and artist and author Konrad Beikircher on December (“Als Strohhalme noch aus Stroh waren”) will provide witty, cabaret dinner trips, each including a 3-course menu.

New event cruises from Cologne on the new hotel ship KD Moment

In April 2024, KD launched trendy event cruises on its new hotel ship “KD Moment” from Cologne. The KD Moment premiered on April 19 with the “Wine Dinner”. A second event is planned for November. Another format on board is “Fahrt mit K”, a Cologne evening to sing along with an overnight stay. When the “Original Crime Dinner” makes a guest appearance on board, the KD Moment is also transformed into a crime hotel. In autumn, wine trips to the wine festivals on the Middle Rhine and city trips to the Netherlands are on the program, before the hotel ship sets sail for Advent and Christmas trips in December. The crowning finale is the New Year’s Eve trip.

Particularly popular are the party cruises with various musical themes such as 80s/90s or Schlager as weekend trips with two overnight stays to Rotterdam or Amsterdam. These cruises depart from Düsseldorf and can be booked from 399 euros per person.

Open-air dance floor every Friday

The popular KD party program returns on Friday evenings with its classics: Sion-Kölsch-Disco, 80s/90s Party, Express Ü29 and Mallorca Party with live acts such as Lorenz Büffel or Isi Glück are the formats. The traditional Dance into May and Mother’s and Father’s Day events can also be found in the timetable.

Children’s rides for the youngest guests

The KD has also come up with something for Cologne’s younger guests. Set sail as a daredevil pirate or go on a magical search for clues in the jungle – on three dates during the summer vacations, light sailors from around three to eleven years old can immerse themselves in colorful worlds and look forward to lots of surprises (10.07., 24.07., 14.08.2024). Tickets 19 euros.

The Cologne classics: panoramic tours and the tour into the Siebengebirge

The daily 1-hour panoramic cruises in Cologne and the popular trips to Drachenfels in the Siebengebirge mountains remain an integral part of the program, as do the day trips to Zons and Monheim. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the event ships will be setting sail again for the popular lounge evening cruises with DJ until the end of September.
