The success story of river cruising began in 1960, when KD built the first cabin cruise ship, MS Europa, and thus ushered in a new era in river travel.

Today this comfortable way of travelling is taken for granted. In 2007 KD was appointed by its majority shareholder Premicon AG, Munich, as sales and marketing agent for several of its river cruise ships as well as those of other cruise operators. The Premicon company presently owns 20 modern river cruise ships in addition to the well-known ocean cruise ship MV Astor. KD cooperates closely with the Cologne based tour operator Premicon Line.
